Passivhaus & EnerPHit mixed-use housing scheme in Didcot gains Planning Permission

MICA is pleased to announce we have been granted planning permission for our mixed-use affordable housing scheme at 116–120 Broadway, in Didcot Garden Town.

A collaboration with South Oxfordshire District Council, the development carefully sites nine high-quality homes and flexible community space, delivered through a combination of new-build Passivhaus and EnerPHit retrofit construction.

The scheme will help revitalising the urban Broadway site with a robust retrofit of an existing two-storey shopfront, and a positively contributing three-storey new build, sensitively considered to include active frontages referencing traditional shopfront principles, and brick-gabled dwelling houses above. The site improves the public realm, enhances biodiversity through a communal resident garden, and will champion sustainable development including a car-free approach.
